Covering more than 70 percent of the Earth’s surface, oceans are some of the most productive, yet threatened, natural systems in the world. Conservancy scientists and staff work in the water and around the world to develope new tools and strategies. We provide worldwide leadership by catalyzing high impact partnerships, developing policy strategies and leading marine conservation research, science and innovation.

Through science, market-based strategies, restoration and resilient habitat building, The Nature Conservancy finds innovative, lasting solutions for marine conservation.
