Biography

Dr. Sheila Reddy is the Global Director and Lead Scientist, Conservation Impact at The Nature Conservancy (TNC). Sheila accelerates solutions to the biodiversity and climate crises by integrating better data and learning into management. Sheila's team does this through organizational reporting and learning, capacity building, and strategic science and technology. Highlights of Sheila’s accomplishments include embedding learning and impact data in TNC’s management processes, developing an innovative soil carbon strategy and being a key architect of a transformative corporate sustainability goal. Sheila’s work has received awards for innovation, academic and social impact.

Sheila serves as an associate editor for Conservation Science and Practice. She is the host of the Society for Conservation Biology's Impact Evaluation and Implementation Science seminar series. She is a member of the Standard Technical Advisory Committee for The Change Climate Project, which supports corporate commitments to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Sheila previously served as associate director of strategic initiatives and as a senior scientist and strategy advisor at TNC. Prior to TNC, Sheila was a postdoctoral fellow at Brown University in economics and ecology. Sheila earned her Ph.D. in marine biology from Scripps Institution of Oceanography through a program with the Department of Economics, University of California-San Diego. She has B.S. in biological sciences from Stanford University.
