Quinebaug Highlands Favorite Places to Visit

Have you visited these favorite places to walk and enjoy nature in the Quinebaug Highlands?

Bigelow Hollow State Park:  From Hwy 84 take exit 73.  follow 190 north to Route 171 east.  Bigelow Hollow State Park is on left at bottom of steep hill
 
Boston Hollow Blue Trail:  From Hwy 84 take exit 72 follow Route 89 south.  At junction of Route 89 in the Westford portion of Ashford go straight onto Boston Hollow Road.  Road will turn to dirt.  Look for Blue Trail markers on left of road after a mile or so.  There is a small parking area to left of road.  Great overlook at top of Ridge.
 
The Nature Conservancy Dennis Farm Preserve, Pomfret CT
 
Hampton Reservoir, Natchaug State Forest:  From Highway 44 in Pomfret take Route 97 south, take right onto Fay Road, then right onto Kenyon Road.  Look for cartop boat launch sign.  Great spot for Kayaking
 
Mansfield Hollow State Park.  Follow signs from Route 6 in Windham or Route 89 in Mansfield.
 
Goodwin State Forest:  Follow signs from Route 6 in Hampton
 
Massachusetts Fish and Wildlife Breakneck Management Area. Located on Breakneck Road in Sturbridge, located on left side of road heading south.
