Take the Pledge Today!

Your call-to-action button goes here: 180px wide by 31px tall and linked to a donation, GPN sign-up, or other action-oriented page.

Taking the pledge is easy. Sign up at  myCarbonPledge and list how many lightbulbs you've replaced or plan to replace before 2008 is up.

Just remember to sign up as part of the Conservancy's Green Team to help us with our own goal of 10,000 bulbs.

What's Your Footprint?

Interested in learning how your daily routine impacts our climate? Check out our Carbon Footprint Calculator to see how much you contribute to our greenhouse gas emissions and what you can do to reduce it.

Did you know that the Midwest, which includes Indiana, is the fifth largest greenhouse gas emitter in the world? Certainly that's not a ranking we Hoosiers want to be affiliated with. Fortunately we can work towards changing that today! By taking the pledge at myCarbonPledge, you can take part in reducing Indiana's greenhouse gas emissions today!

The Nature Conservancy is proud to participate in the Indianapolis Zoo / Lowe's campaign to decrease our state's carbon dioxide emissions by 150 million pounds per year. How? Through myCarbonPledge, that's how! myCarbonPledge is a statewide initiative with the goal of changing one million incandescent bulbs to compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs in 2008.

How can this help reduce our greenhouse gas emissions? Well, the average daily use of a light bulb is about three hours. By exchanging your old light bulbs with CFLs, Indiana can reduce it s CO2 emissions by 150 millions pounds per year - an equivalent of taking more than 13,000 cars off our roads.
