15th Year Corporate Council Luncheon & CC's Coffee Project

Baton Rouge, LA—February 13, 2002—The Nature Conservancy of Louisiana will hold their 15th Anniversary Corporate Council Celebration at the Pennington Conference Center on Friday, February 22, 2002, at 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. The celebration will showcase 15 years of conservation made possible by the Conservancy's past, present and future corporate partners. A press conference will be held from 10:30am - 11:30am on site to announce Corporate Council winners and the CC's Coffee Partnership. Stephen Ambrose, historian and author, will be this year's guest speaker. Event MC will be Mr. Donald "Boysie" Bollinger, chairman of The Nature Conservancy of Louisiana board of trustees. Also, The Nature Conservancy of Louisiana and CC's Coffee will announce a partnership that will focus on protecting natural habitats for migratory birds in Southwest Louisiana and Veracruz, Mexico.

Every year The Nature Conservancy of Louisiana hosts the Corporate Council Luncheon to thank and recognize the council's efforts in conserving Louisiana's natural resources. Specifically, The Nature Conservancy presents two leadership awards to companies that have demonstrated their commitment through their conservation projects. The Nature Conservancy also awards a Chairman's Leadership Award to a company that has played a key role in The Nature Conservancy of Louisiana's protection work.

The mission of the Corporate Council is to provide leadership in a coalition that seeks positive results through cooperative efforts. Currently, over 85 Louisiana corporations belong to the Corporate Council. 2002 Corporate Council Sponsors will be CenturyTel, International Paper, and Turner Industries.
