Mary Travaglini, The Nature Conservancy; Bill McLaughlin, USBG Plant Curator;

Ray Mims, USBG Conservation Horticulturist

This will be a fantastic workshop for anyone wishing to learn more about how to identify and remove some of the most common invasive plant pests, while learning about some of the native plants to add to your garden or natural area. This hands-on day will include a morning session, by Mary Travaglini, who will have live specimens of common invasive plants to identify, and details on how to recognize and remove them. Ray Mims will then lead us on a tour of the invasive plant trail in the garden. After a box lunch, Bill McLaughlin will guide us through the National Garden to show off some of the wonderful native plants that can be used in a local garden successfully.

Bring an invasive plant that you need help identifying in a Ziploc bag, and the three leaders will try to identify it. Lunch is included in the fee.

Date: Thursday, Sept 11

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

FRIENDS of the USBG: $ 25, Non Members: $ 30
