Things you should know before you volunteer

All work parties are from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted. No pre-registration is required, just show up prepared to work!

Note: Workdays will be held the third Saturday of each month at Weaver Dunes, weather-permitting. Call (507) 289-3959 to check the status of an event. Volunteers should meet at the Weaver Dunes office.

Paul Bunyan Savanna: Prescribed fire preparatory work, 12 - 2 p.m.
Meet at the Northland Arboretum Visitor Center. Participants will spend the afternoon caring for trees by pruning lower branches, raking material away from them to protect them from fire and removing bud caps. Volunteers should bring warm, layered clothing, sturdy footwear, rain gear, hats and work gloves.
