Carnivorous Plants in the Southeast Coastal Plain Numerous species of carnivorous plants are found at the Conservancy's Boiling Spring Lakes Preserve and Green Swamp Preserve. These plants require plenty of sunlight and moisture--which can be found in the ecotone (transition zone) between the pond pine woodland and upland xeric sandhill. Fire is an essential component of this ecosystem. |
