Edge of Appalachia Preserve

 

The Clean Ohio Fund greenspace conservation program is administered locally by 19 regional Natural Resources Assistance Councils (NRACs) across the state.  Each NRAC consists of 11 members representing a broad scope of local governments, conservation, agriculture, forestry, parks, and businesses organizations. 

Each is responsible for setting a prioritization and selection methodology for applications.  Factors to consider for scoring methodology include habitat for rare, threatened and endangered species, high quality habitat, headwater streams, floodplains, water quality, and wetlands.  Approved applications are then sent to the Ohio Public Works Commission for final approval.
