The Portland Water Bureau is currently conducting a construction project adjacent to the Sandy River Gorge Preserve trail.

The Conduit Trestle Vulnerability Reduction Project is designed to safeguard Portland’s water supply conduits from natural and human-caused hazards. These conduits run across the Diack property, which hosts the trail to the preserve.

Please avoid the construction zone and watch for construction vehicles while visiting the preserve.

Construction is taking place from April 2008 until March 2009.

For more information about the project, contact Terry Black, Portland Water Bureau Sandy River Basin Community Involvement and Information Representative at 503 523-1168. Or, send an e-mail to terry.black@ci.portland.or.us.
