Our trainings provide volunteers with a variety of opportunities to develop and expand leadership, naturalist or surveying skills while helping to protect some of Oregon's most remarkable places.

Below are the trainings we're offering this spring. For more information and to learn how to apply, please contact Molly Dougherty at 503 802-8100 or mdougherty@tnc.org except where otherwise noted).

Naturalist
Like meeting the public and want to learn more about Oregon's natural history? Become a volunteer naturalist! Greet visitors, answer questions and educate visitors about usage guidelines at our most heavily visited preserves. Volunteers patrol "their" preserves at least twice during the 2008 field season.
Trainings for this season are over, but let us know if you're interested in next year, or check later for more information.

Crew Leader
Like working outside? This opportunity is for you! Crew leaders provide support and leadership for work parties around the state. Volunteers commit to leading two work parties during the 2008 field season. Trainings for this season are over, but let us know if you're interested in next year, or check later for more information.

Weed Watcher
Want to help protect biodiversity while you hike? Become a "weed watcher!" Prevent the establishment of invasive plants by surveying for and reporting new infestations at key natural areas across Oregon. For more information or to register, please contact Tania Siemens at 541 914-0701 or tsiemens@tnc.org.
