International Paper, The Nature Conservancy and The Conservation Fund have reached an agreement to protect 218,000 acres of forestlands across 10 states in the single largest private land conservation sale in the history of the South, and one of the largest in the nation.

August 22, 2003: Biological Surveys Find Duck River Most Biodiverse in U.S.
Recent biological surveys of the Duck River indicate that it is one of the most biodiverse rivers in North America. Free flowing for most of its 269 miles and brimming with species, the Duck River is one of the last rivers of its kind anywhere in the nation.

March 03, 2003: Nature Conservancy Transfers Lauderdale County Property To TWRA
An additional $3.5 million has been secured in Forest Legacy funding to cover the cost of 12,000 acres of bottomland forest in Lauderdale County. This is the final step in a cooperative land deal between The Nature Conservancy and the state of Tennessee.
