Education Event - WOW: Wonder of Wetlands workshop 
Time:
  9 a.m. - 5 p.m.  
Location: Clive Runnells Family Mad Island Marsh Preserve (near Collegeport)
Description: WOW! has been called the most comprehensive introduction to wetland issues and definitions by the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) and is a recommended by the National Science Teacher's Association (NSTA).
Fee: $45 (includes all course materials)

Open Preserve Weekend
Time:
 Arrive after 5 p.m. on the 11thand depart by 12 p.m. on the 13th 
Location: Independence Creek Preserve, Sheffield, Texas
Description: The public is invited to explore the preserve for the weekend or the day on Saturday the 12th. Camping will be permitted in designated areas. No pets or horses allowed. Registration is required. Hiking, swimming, wading in the creek, catch and release fishing, birding, and other outdoor activities will be permitted.
Fee: Free

Earth Day Event - Celebration at Woodlawn Lake Park
Time:
10 a.m. - 4 p.m. 
Location: Woodlawn Lake Park - San Antonio
Description: Stop by The Nature Conservancy's booth at this annual event co-sponsored by the Earth Day Committee and the City of San Antonio. The celebration will include entertainment, food and beverages, tree-planting demonstrations, a 5K run, activities for the children and energy and conservation ideas and techniques.

Earth Day Event - Bird Bonanza
Time:
Tours to allow the public to observe the birds and bird banding will be conducted at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Location: Clive Runnells Family Mad Island Marsh Preserve
Description: The Nature Conservancy's Mad Island Marsh Preserve near Collegeport will host tours open to birders to celebrate Earth Day. College students from the Institute for Bird Populations are expected to be at the preserve, observing and learning to band migrating neotropical birds. Please meet at the front gate of the preserve. Bring binoculars, camera, hat, sunscreen, drinking water and appropriate outdoor clothing.

"Wild Night" Spring Party
Time:
7:00 p.m.
Location: Dallas 
Description: Join us in Dallas for “Wild Night,” a celebration of Texas’ vast diversity of wild landscapes.  The party will feature a spectacular silent auction with items including original art by noted Dallas painter Billy Hassell, and weekend trips to some of the most beautiful protected lands in Texas, Mexico and New Mexico. Entertainment will be provided by crowd-pleasers 3 Fools on 3 Stools and the fabulous DiVine. The dress is casual beach wear, aka sundresses and "white and khaki," and the party will be outdoor and tented. This year's event is chaired by Nelda Cain Pickens and hosted by Nancy Cain Marcus.
Fee: Tickets are Lakes and Rivers - $1,000 (priority seating for 2), Forests - $750 (special seating for 2) or Conservation Partners - $250/each (general seating).
