Biography
Hawley Iona plays a pivotal role in guiding the overall direction, ensuring organizational excellence, and establishing the enabling conditions necessary for achieving the strategic conservation priorities of TNC’s programs. Since joining TNC in 2017, she has been instrumental in ensuring the financial security and sustainability of its programs by developing, directing, and executing strategies related to financial health, resource management, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership empowerment. She maintains a comprehensive view of diverse revenue sources, ensuring financial stability and flexibility essential for effective and evolving project planning and execution.
Prior to joining TNC, Hawley served as Chief Financial Officer at the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, where she provided leadership direction, decision support, and fiscal and land management services to achieve systemic changes for the Native Hawaiian community. She is a graduate of the University of Hawai‘i and a CPA (not in public practice), with eight years of experience in public practice in Cleveland, Ohio, before returning to Hawai‘i in 2007.
