Biography
Dr. Sudipta Chatterjee is the Associate Director of Programs at TNC, where he is an integral member of the Programs Team. He brings over 31 years of experience in conservation and environmental studies. In his role, he provides technical and program support, overseeing all aspects of TNC's technical project services that span a broad range of issues related to conservation and the environment. Additionally, he offers strategic leadership and establishes departmental and program priorities, while also being the principal contact for clients, government agencies, and other organizations in the conservation field.
Previously, Sudipta served as the Head of the Coca-Cola Department of Regional Water Studies at the TERI School of Advanced Studies and has held significant positions such as the Head of Communities, Biodiversity and Forests, and Carbon Division at the Wildlife Trust of India. He has also worked with the ICFRE, Government of India, and the Forests and Biodiversity Divisions at Winrock International.
Sudipta has a Ph.D. in Botany, an International Diploma in Plant Conservation Techniques, and an M.Phil. in Environmental Sciences (with a specialization in Ecology) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
He joined TNC in 2023 and is based in the Delhi office.
