Teaming Up With Microsoft

Microsoft is using technology to help The Nature Conservancy advance its mission.

The Nature Conservancy and Microsoft have a long-standing partnership that includes the use of Azure and intelligent cloud tools to power TNC’s work on coastal resilience and its digital transformation as an organization. Additionally, the two organizations have utilized transformational technology through campaigns, including  Minecraft and Upgrade Your World.

Earn Rewards to Help the Environment

All year long, Microsoft Rewards members are given an easier way to donate to TNC. With more than 320 million active members worldwide, members can earn Rewards points in a variety of ways, including:

  • Searching with Bing.com
  • Browsing with Microsoft Edge
  • Shopping at the Microsoft Store
  • Playing favorite games on Xbox

Members can redeem their points by visiting the Rewards page on the Microsoft Rewards website and selecting the eligible reward they wish to redeem. Microsoft Rewards offers a feature called Give with Bing that allows members to make a positive impact and donate their points directly to TNC (or their non-profit of choice) each month. Every April during Earth Month, Rewards points help plant trees by supporting TNC's Plant A Billion Trees program.

TNC teamed up with Microsoft for Earth Day 2020 to ensure our world is protected for many years to come. Microsoft helped in several ways:

  • Microsoft donated $150,000 to support TNC's mission to conserve the lands  and waters on which all life depends.
  • SilviaTerra, Microsoft, and The Nature Conservancy collaborated on the FOCUS/Forests initiative during Earth Month, using innovative technology to analyze and conserve forests while promoting sustainable ecological practices. Microsoft is also sharing personal stories of people who have devoted their professional lives to protecting nature.
  • Microsoft Rewards members are given an easier way to donate through Microsoft's Give with Bing campaign. When Rewards members switch to Give Mode at Bing.com, their searches earn Rewards points that are automatically donated directly to TNC each month.
