Biography
Anjali Acharya is Managing Director of Nature Conservancy India Solutions (NCIS), the environmental services firm established by The Nature Conservancy (TNC), offering scientific and technical support and consultancy services in achieving our conservational 2030 goals for India.
Prior to joining NCIS, Anjali worked at The World Bank for 25 years, where she led and contributed to environmental programs across Latin America, East Asia Pacific and South Asia. Her work at The World Bank primarily focused on areas such as climate resilience, pollution management, circular economy, landscapes and marine plastics.
Her work includes climate resilience regional programs, such as work on the Mekong Delta in Vietnam, and biodiversity and protected areas investments in the Eastern Caribbean. She has contributed to Cambodia's sustainable landscape management and addressed pollution management issues, including marine plastics and air pollution in India.
Anjali holds a Ph.D (doctorate) in environmental health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, a master’s in environmental management, Duke University, and a bachelor’s in economics from St. Stephen’s College in New Delhi, India.
