Biography

Connor is responsible for developing and leveraging strong relationships with the private sector, academic institutions, governmental entities and other community partners to advance TNC’s conservation and climate objectives in the state. As a member of Maine’s Public Affairs Team, he coordinates closely with all conservation staff to identify, develop and implement conservation, policy and funding opportunities that can be advanced through engagement with business.

Connor provides guidance to others in developing and maintaining productive business partnerships and actively explores ways of supporting innovation in energy, finance, technology, supply chain and value chain practices that align with TNC Maine’s conservation and climate objectives.

“The urgency of addressing the dual climate and biodiversity crises is underscored by the threat-multiplying nature of each. These issues take big problems and make them much worse for more people around the planet. It’s going to take a complex ‘all hands on deck’ approach to create equitable solutions, and the business community is playing a major part in that effort. Avoiding and reducing damage to nature, rapidly cutting emissions and joining in partnership to help others do the same are just a few ways that leaders across the business sector are acting. I’m passionate about supporting and amplifying that good work.”

Prior to joining TNC in 2019, Connor spent 5 years working as an Arabic linguist and intelligence professional in the U.S. Army. He holds a master of business administration and a master of science in business analytics from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
