Biography
Kevin is the lead forestry specialist in The Nature Conservancy’s Africa Region. He supports TNC work in delivering forest based natural climate solutions with partners (private sector, governments, CSOs and communities), and works with TNC’s global and Africa regional teams on forest and landscape restoration. He is part of the Africa Forest Carbon Catalyst development team, where he is leading the development of bankable and ESG compliant afforestation / reforestation enterprises and projects in Africa.
Before joining The Nature Conservancy in 2017, Kevin had previously worked in the private, public and profit sectors, and began his career at the Kenya Forest Service before becoming a project manager overseeing reforestation activities, community social development and forest certification at one of east Africa’s major private forestry companies. He has also consulted widely on forest management, environmental sustainability, and climate change issues, with active work experience in all the east African countries.
Kevin holds a BSc in Forestry (honors) from Moi University, Kenya, and MSc in Development Finance from Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) University.
