Biography
Munira Anyonge-Bashir is a natural resources management expert with 30-years of experience in community-based conservation development and governance design, and a wildlife policies and legislation design expert. She has worked for TNC since October 2013. She currently works for The Nature Conservancy, Africa program as the Kenya Program Director. Munira works with strategy and global teams to support and oversee the Kenya government development programs, ensuring that the programs are aligned to the Shared Conservation Agenda. This work is implemented through strong local partnerships and strong government relationships.
Munira has a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Tourism Development; BA in Business Studies; 2000-Colorado State University, USA -International Natural Resources Policy Administration & Management; Professional skills in Protected Area Management-University of Montana, Missoula, USA, (2005); and Community Based Natural Resource-Management Rhodes University, South Africa, 2002.
Munira is a passionate wildlife conservationist with several successful achievements including the Head of State Commendation (HSC) for her work in championing community benefits from wildlife conservation.
