Biography

Steve is the Director of the Policy and Partnerships team for The Nature Conservancy in Massachusetts. Steve leads the team to inform and influence federal and state policies to achieve TNC’s environmental, conservation and climate change policy and funding objectives. He leads collaborations with partners and policymakers to develop the Commonwealth’s nation-leading equitable and sustainable approaches to nature-based solutions, addressing both the causes and impacts of climate change. Steve has also fostered the transformation of policies to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy, ensuring better outcomes for both people and nature.

Before joining TNC in 2007, Steve worked as Recycling Markets Director for the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, as Legislative Director for a Massachusetts state senator and as a Community Engagement Specialist for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Superfund Program.

Steve also served as an adjunct professor for ten years teaching environmental policy at Suffolk University and Tufts University. He received his B.A. in Political Science from Ithaca College and his M.A. in Political Science/Public Policy from Rutgers University.
