Biography

Tammy has worked at TNC, supporting the Pacific Islands since 2007. Her initial role at TNC was finance manager, Pacific Island Countries, and she has held numerous roles since then including director of finance & operations and deputy director and since December 2024 has been serving as the interim executive director for Micronesia & Polynesia. TNC’s Micronesia & Polynesia Program includes offices in Palau, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Marshall Islands and Guam, with additional conservation activities occurring in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Kiribati, American Samoa and French Polynesia.

Tammy’s role is to oversee conservation and program implementation, strategy, finance, operations, communications and leadership for the Micronesia & Polynesia Chapter. Tammy serves on the board of directors for Pacific Island Tuna (PIT), a groundbreaking partnership with the Marshall Islands designed to transform the global canned tuna supply chain by procuring tuna with electronic monitoring and other environmental safeguards. PIT is designed to demonstrate a new paradigm for fisheries production while spurring market commitments for sustainable fishing and electronic monitoring and encouraging incumbent tuna companies to follow suit. PIT gives 100% of all distributions back to Pacific Island communities and governments participating in the program, funding conservation and climate-resiliency project. She also provides technical financial expertise for partner and community trainings and livelihoods development. Tammy has previously held board positions with The Nature Conservancy Australia and The Nature Conservancy New Zealand.
