Overview

Event Overview

Cabin owners in the Northwoods often build brush piles to clear flammable vegetation and protect their homes from wildfire. At this hands-on experience at the University of Minnesota's Hubachek Wilderness Research Center, instructors from The Nature Conservancy and Superior National Forest will demonstrate how to effectively build piles (think small, not tall) and safely burn these piles.

Wear sturdy shoes and long pants. Bring gloves for handling wood. Bring a water bottle, bug spray and maybe a bug head net.

This event has a maximum of 15 attendees.
