Overview
Spring Is Here!
The warm weather is bringing about fresh, green colors everywhere, and our flowers are beginning to bloom. Best of all, The Nature Conservancy’s Smiley Meadow Preserve will host several spring tours in 2025!
There are three opportunities to visit the preserve this spring:
Event Dates
- Early Blooms Tour—May 3, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
- Inaugural Spring Meadow Walk—May 31, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
- Purple Blossoms Tour—June 14, 2025 at 8:00 a.m.
Don’t miss your chance to walk among the blooms at TNC's 1,050-acre Smiley Meadow Preserve, which contains one of the largest remnants of Silveus' dropseed prairie—a rare type of tallgrass prairie that supports hundreds of species of grasses, wildflowers and wildlife. You’ll immerse yourself in the beauty and color of true Texas prairie while learning about the history and ecology of our native grasslands. Grab your binoculars and camera, pack a picnic lunch and get back to nature!
