Program Highlights

Presentation: Navigating the Climate Crisis

Speaker: Luke Parsons, The Nature Conservancy

Luke Parsons will deliver a talk providing an overview of climate change and its global impacts, with a focus on the critical issue of heat exposure. Drawing from his recent work, Luke will explore:

  • Heat Exposure: How land-use changes, like deforestation, and broader global climate change are driving increased heat exposure.
  • Impacts on Vulnerable Communities and Adaptation Needs: The disproportionate effects on socially vulnerable communities and the importance of targeted adaptation strategies.

The discussion will provide attendees with a deeper understanding of climate change through the lens of heat exposure and its effects on people and ecosystems.
