Description
This island preserve supports salt marsh water snakes and diamondback terrapins. It is also a potentially important site for migrating shorebirds.
Why TNC Selected This Site
This site was donated to The Nature Conservancy and represents a unique example of a coastal marsh island.
What TNC is Doing
Our strategies for this preserve include very little staff interaction. Our goal is to provide protection for the migrating shorebirds and provide them safe nesting sites.
Access
To ensure that nesting water birds are not disturbed, this preserve can be visited only when prior arrangements are made. For further information, call 205-251-1155 or e-mail ktassin@tnc.org
