The mission of The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is to conserve the lands and waters upon which all life depends. As a science-based organization, we develop innovative, on-the-ground solutions to the world's toughest environmental challenges so that people and nature can thrive. This volunteer position will help the Ohio chapter enhance and improve our Intentional Purchasing Guide, a resource staff will use when making financial operations decisions (purchasing, contracting), allowing the dollars we spend to support local businesses.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and web search
- Confident typist
- Experience creating a guide/manual or writing
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Duties:
- Potentially attend/call-in to team meetings, depending on interest & availability
- Research vendors and create an internal list (building off internal records and external databases)
- Create an internal database of local vendors
- Outreach to external organizations to help identify possible vendors (understand who they work with and how they operate)
Length of appointment: 6 months (preferred start date in April - flexible)
Time commitment: 2-4 hours/week
Support provided: This position will be supervised by the Strategic Partnerships and Engagement Manager. Instructions for all tasks will be discussed and provided in meetings and trainings.
